Um she is silly, like really silly, like the exact replica of her dad ( and my sister Russanne). I don't know how she got so weird and random, I mean its not like I encourage it every day ;) but she makes me laugh a lot. She makes random people in the grocery store laugh, she makes her nursery leaders laugh, that is how I know she really is silly, and oh so random. And she has a crazy memory like remembering stuff from last fall, that we don't even talk about (aka sister Russanne). The girl is pretty smart to, I mean, I am waiting for the doctor to confirm how smart she is next month at her appointment, but she is smart. Like ABC's smart, like counts to 13, smart like has full blown four word conversations with me, like sings all sorts of songs smart, I mean this girl is smart. And she listens pretty well, and knows there are consequences for her actions and will play hardball with you when she really wants something, I mean this girl wont even be two for another month. So to prove this girl's silliness and smarts here is a preview of the past few months, yep there are lots o' pictures, but how can you resist this girl!

<img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; this picture was taken today, she was supposed to be smiling cute at me but instead I got her smiling crazy as she is watching Nemo (this is the second thing she asks for in the morning next to daddy, what about me, you know mommy, the one who takes care of you for like twelve hours a day, eh can't win em all)

<img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; After however long it has been since my last post, I am sure this is not the post you were hoping for, nor is it my ideal post. I having been thinking about this a lot lately and just need to get some things off my chest. Please understand that we are really happy, and what I am about to announce for the world to read is what is going on. We want another baby, and have for some time now. It's no secret that it took us two years to get pregnant with the love of our life last time. But when everyone says, and I mean everyone, "oh good, now it won't take you as long next time because your body will just recognize it"...hmm. Everyone...you don't know me! Shame on me for thinking we would just get pregnant right away. Who do I think I am setting myself up for failure again? Why do people think it is so easy to get pregnant? Why do 15 year old children get pregnant? Why do people who don't want a baby get pregnant? Why do people who don't love their children get pregnant? Why? Why? Why? Lets be honest, I don't get pregnant easily and apparently there is something else in store for us that we don't know about yet, but I wish I did. For anyone who really knows me, they know that I am not patient. For instance, two months ago I sneaked on to see who the Bachelor Brad picks in the end because I just could not wait. But this is so much more than patience for me. I guess it is learning about enduring and remaining faithful and trying to see the good in the situation, wait, is there any good in this situation? I hate when people say they just got pregnant, or they were not planning it, or that they even planned it. I hate that we can't plan our pregnancies. I hate it when people say, "what do you mean by 'trying,' is trying really that bad?"Yes and no! I hate when people ask when we are going to have more kids. I hate that we waited to start trying for 8 months after Liv was born. That was precious baby making time that was wasted! I hate feeling jealous when someone is pregnant, or tells me they are pregnant, or that someone else is pregnant. I mean I am happy for you, until I start wallowing in my own self pity. I hate seeing other people pregnant or with new babies. I hate that I cry every month when I am reminded that I am not pregnant. I hate when people say just relax about it and it will happen. Who do you think you are? I hate that everywhere I go I am reminded of the thing that we want the most right now. I hate that I have to google the best ways and times to get pregnant, or that I have to read what fertility treatments will do. I hate that I hate this so much! So here I am, being reminded yet again, that I am not pregnant after a round of treatments. It would have been lucky to have it work on the first try. It would have been lucky to get pregnant over 15 months ago. It would have been lucky to get pregnant during acupuncture. We are not the lucky type, oh no, not us. We are the type that have to try really hard, who have to be tested, who have to pee on sticks, and who have to have the doctor tell us when it is best to 'try'. We are not the spontaneous type, well we are not so much right now, because right now more than anything we want to be parents again.

Now that I have aired some of my dirty laundry out to dry, I want you to know something. We are trying to do well with all of this. There are others who are going through this, but much worse. There are others who get pregnant and painfully lose it. There are others who have never experienced pregnancy, birth, and being a mother. There are others who will never even have the option of having a baby. There are others who lose their children after birth. For us, this is our trial, and for us it is what we have chosen, but it is really hard. We have been given so much. We KNOW that when all the stars are aligned this WILL happen for us again. Sometimes this knowledge makes things easier, and sometimes it doesn't(see above). We have a lot of things going for us right now, and we are grateful for all the support we have from family and friends. We feel really good about our decision to get help from a doctor, as opposed to last time when I felt like a number on a conveyor belt being the science project to see what worked best this week. But for the love, if someone could work some sort of magic and send a healthy baby/pregnancy our way, we would be indebted to you forever. I am a pretty open person, well about this anyways. Because last time when we were 'trying' I was not so open for a long time about it, and when I finally became open about it, it helped me more than anything. Realizing I am not the only one out there, realizing there is strength in numbers, realizing I could talk to someone. But for now we wait, we try to wait patiently and most of the time do pretty well at it. We/I have our/my moments. Then my sweet girl comes in and gives me a kiss and I am reminded that we have this. This beautiful, crazy, smart, stubborn little girl who we waited patiently for before. Now she is ours to keep forever, and I would not have it any other way. Because if we wouldn't have gotten pregnant exactly when we did...
she would not be ours today.

We have also had things happening in other areas in our life.
So maybe (maybe) during another nap time we will chat again.

Norris Computer?

Did you know we bought a new computer...like four months ago? What about having Internet for four weeks but I did not want a black cable literally running through three rooms of my house so we paid for Internet but had to wait to use it until our wireless was installed. Yeah that's the story of my life. BIG NEWS...duh duh duh...Jon is going to school at Boston University...did I say at, I mean online. Thought I was going to say something else huh! Would have been fun to move though being that my sister just moved there and we could have driven all the way across the United States and have the road trip of a life time. No joke I am dying to do this, maybe not with a seventeen month old, but I would do it. Other than school nothing is new but at least there is something new. I know you are not really looking at my blog to read, there apparently is only one thing you want me to post about...lame, its as if we had a baby and you don't want to see anything else, and by as if I mean that's the truth. You now its true when you show up somewhere and the first thing anybody says is "where's Liv" Its as if I never existed. Also this text..."I need to see pictures of Liv" is a pretty good indicator...you know who you are, its not like I have seen any pictures lately of your baby, just a bed. So maybe I am not the only one who posts every three months. I love Liv and to take some credit she would not be here if I were not here. She cracks me up every day, she frustrates me every day too, has anyone ever told you that there is this period where your kid thinks they know what they are saying and it makes no sense to you, then she gets frustrated and then you get frustrated, yep that's everyday! I also realized I love this stage, some communication, independence, laughter, walking, self occupation, she is the best thing to ever happen to us. She has a lot of Jon in her. Here are some pictures to prove it. PS I hate the new blog layouts...they su-uck!

New Glasses anyone...

swimsuit at the lake

who new a little swimmer could do this...

when you ask Liv "how much do you love me," this is how much she loves me...with her hands! It blows my mind. Of course I am a few days late posting but I was waiting for her one year old photo session. Here is a little of what this girl is doing. Not walking but crawling and pulling up like a mad women. I seriously think she is afraid to fall the two feet to the ground and hit her diapered bum, cause if she is standing and loses her balance she hyperventilates...she is just not ready, but we so are!! She is talking, learning new words everyday. List...

Mama

Dada

Papa

Ma'Ma

No No

Baba (baby and bottle)

Bipor (diapor)

Baa (ball)

Boo

WusDat( What that)

La (Liv)

Bu (book)

Ca (Car)

CoCo (Auntie Coco)

Une (One)

Wow

Berbe (something like that but it is strawberry)

Dah (dog)

Wa Wa (water)

Nana (all food, bananas, snacks and my cousin Hannah)

Men (amen, this one is so cute, she says is as soon as we start closing a prayer or right at the end and she is folding her arms too)

She shakes her head yes and no...a lot!

If you ask her if she wants lunch a snack or food she say "MMM"

She knows her dog and cat sounds..."uf uf" and "row"

She knows where her ears, nose mouth and head are, and she will point to your teeth and say "tee."

She has more words but those are the regulars...but if you ask her to say new words she tries as hard as she can to pronounce them in her language.

She loves reading her books by herself or when mom and dad are with her

Her favorite foods are strawberries, bananas, asparagus, soygurt (soy yogurt, its not good but she thinks it is the best thing to ever happen) turkey, turkey dogs, pretty much meat of any kind, kix, Cheerios, anything sweet we can find that has no milk or eggs which is not very often so when she gets sweets she is in heaven, she likes anything sour, pretty much if she is not allergic to it she will eat it, so far not having a picky eater is a dream!

This girl loves to dance she loves to sing and even though you can't understand her, she jabbers ALL the time. She squeals and laughs at the weirdest times, ps she has a little growl-grinch laugh! She has six teeth with another on the way, she points to everything and then will hold up a number one, along with the one finger...you guessed it she puts her finger right up her nose, not picking it of course she just found a hole in her nose. She has the girliest-feminine wave using only her hand and wrist. Liv can play by herself forever, which is awesome but I feel guilty sometimes not spending more time with her. She is a professional stair climber, down needs a little practice though. Liv loves playing in piles of blankets and pillows being outside, swinging and playing with other kids. So much I am sure. We love this girl so much and can't wait for another year!
This last picture is of her playing peek a boo with the chair, it was the best ever, her thinking she could hind behind this chair, we played for like five minutes!

Best Ever...

So I waited and waited and then waited some more, and SHE is finally here! Liv is at the cutest stage, seriously she gets better and better each day, is that possible? She has a love affair with food, she sleeps most nights 12 hours, she rarely crys, is always smiling, will give you kisses when you ask for them, will wave at you and melt your heart, listens when you tell her no, or "ah-ah" as we say it, feed herself(with her fingers of course) and can fully entertain herself for hours, best girlie ever. We will posts pictures of our house one day, but as one again I am signing in from my parents, nine month preview pictures are the extent. What a whirlwind month with remodeling the house, the computer officially breaking-time for a new one, mobile baby, and food allergies. Oh don't you worry, she is just allergic to milk, eggs, wheat, peanuts and dogs, what do we feed her you ask, fruits, veggies and meat...who knew parents who have absolutely no allergies could produce such a wonder! Hopefully she grows out of them!! She's a doll, life is great and tax returns are awesome!

Russanne and Kyle Married

On October 17th Russanne and Kyle were married, they weather was perfect, everything was just right and both the bride and groom were glowing. After they were sealed the sealer asked the groom the grab Sister Sasser, (yep that's right her name is Russanne Sasser it still makes us laugh when we say it) and he smiling said, "holy" because it shocked him so much to hear her name, and he said it in a I can't believe that is her name kind of way. As he grabbed her she was just bouncing she was so excited, I mean literally bouncing. The day was amazing but we are all glad the craziness is over. Kyle and Russanene are still glowing and so happy to finally be married. We only have a few shots of the bride and groom, I am not going to lye, Jon was in charge of getting the shots and he did not get too many. So I will post ours now, but our friend who took our family pics did their wedding so when she posts those so will I!! Congrats you two we love you both. Oh and my favorite part of weddings is to look at the bride and groom right when they are walking out of the temple, you can see the pure joy on their faces, look at these two. The bottom pic is not the best but it was one of the two together.

Family Pics and 6 Months

Are you serious Liv is six months old, aaaahhhh, where has the time gone! Her appointment is on Wednesday so I am not quite sure how big she is, but she still is barely fitting into her 3-6month clothes so she is still pretty tiny. But she has been pacing on the chubs lately what with her new love for food. She eats like a champ the first time I fed her food from a spoon, she made no faces, in fact I am pretty sure her thoughts were "thanks mom for finally giving me real food!" Then last night we gave her carrots for the first time because she has been on cereal for a month and still no faces. We got all ready to film the funny faces she would make, and nothing, she love food, she is officially is addicted. She has been sitting up for a few weeks now, she loves rolling all over the place, she reaches for everyone, I am not just saying this because I am her mom, but because other people comment on it all the time, but she is the smiliest, happiest baby ever, she is such a good girl and other people recognize it so its true! I don't know how I lucked out so well. Liv loves to read and play with her toys, but most of all she loves people, she got that quality from her dad, not that I don't love people but that they are attracted to people and new people everywhere. We had a cold snap come through so by the end of our session, which had to be quick because of the weather, we were all freezing and Liv was screaming, she was a trooper. So on Monday Liv and I went to my friends in-home studio and had her 6 month pictures taken, we love all of them so much, she is so talented! These are the few we have seen, I can't wait to see all of them!

4 Months old...actually almost 5 now

So I don't have to upload tons of pics because they were sent to me. We have not had internet for three or more weeks and will not have it for a few more. I will have to do one of those catch up posts where I post two months in one day, that day is not today!! Here it is, first Liv is growing and getting so smart, she is a strong one, everyone thinks she will be walking early, and man she is a talker, she has so many stories to tell. She rolled over twice on the fifth and wants nothing to do with it anymore, what a cutie. The newest, we are home owners now (pics to come) and our life has been crazy. Painting every room, gutting the kitchen, and then trying to put it back together, trying to move clean etc... all by Friday. We love our house and back yard, but there is so much stuff to do when you buy a house...aahh! Our little girl had her two month appointment last Monday and I am just now posting her stats, the worst is that I can't even remember all of them,

       Weight: 9lbs, 11oz-21st percentile

Length: Don't know but she was in the 88th percentile

Head circumference: forgot this one too, but she was in the 33rd percentile

It never hurts to be tall and skinny huh! I guess I am not that bad of a mom if I can remember half of the stats!! She did great with her shots, she is a tough one, but I think her first hospital visit toughened her up. Her teething has set in real nice now, can you since the sarcasm. I feel so bad for her, I can tell she doesn't feel well and I hate to drug her all the time so I have had to pick and choose the times to give her Tylenol and the times I just want to hold and comfort her. Jon's mom said that him and his sister teethed pretty early and I guess that is something Liv got from dad. We are getting mixed reviews on her looks, Jon and I don't see much of him in her, we see me. I should get a hold of one of my baby pictures to show you how much she looks like me. But then we get, "she sure does look like her dad." So I guess this must mean she is a good mix of both of us.

Our house should close on July 15th which is totally exciting, most of all I can't wait to have paint on the walls. There will not be a white wall in our house!! No pictures yet, it is still not ours, but we are excited about our cute little bungalow! I thought it would be fun to post pictures of Liv's many faces, most of them were taken on a day where Liv and I were dressed the same, no I did not mean to, and it is not exact at all but the colors matched. Oh and she has some baby acne we think, so her face is blotchy in some of the pictures. It is sad, aren't you supposed to get acne when you are like thirteen. She is a cutie be warned!! With Liv joining our family we have recognized the amazing, eternal love Heavenly Father has for us as his children, in fact we only have a glimpse of how much He loves us. Liv is truly a gift and we have now recognized the great blessings from being patient. Not only through waiting for Liv but in other areas of our lives. Last week, well first let me say what a blessing Jon's new job has been. We are financially stable enough to where we feel comfortable with buying our first house. With that said last week we made an offer on a house that Jon liked and I loved, our second offer was accepted and we had begun the process of purchasing our first home. But during our family home evening that night we decided to pull out of the deal, luckily before anything had been signed or earnest money was lost. So we were back to our search, which by the way house shopping, not so much fun. Not even three days later we found another house, we both liked. we made an offer today and it was again accepted after negotiations of course, and we both feel great about it. It is old and small and needs some work, but it will be a great first home. We don't have pictures, in fact until we actually own the house I wont post any pictures (what if something happens and we don't get it?). We are blessed in so many ways, with the gospel, eternal families, temples, we are blessed in happiness, and love, we are blessed. Another great blessing is the priesthood, and I am so grateful for the priesthood in our home. Jon was able to give Liv and I a blessing the night she was born, and we saw great blessings come from that. But last week Jon gave our first baby a blessing, and it was amazing, and so powerful, and Jon's sweet mom recorded it for us, so we will always remember it, but more importantly Liv will be able to read it one day and realize how special she really is. Sound like I am comlaining about our new life, I am so far from unhappy right now it is amazing, our lives are great, just new! Last week I went outside while Liv was sleeping at my parents house and this is what I found, it was too cute to pass up pictures. This is my dad and his neighbor boys, with Jon playing a two-on-two basketball game! So cute to watch... oh andmy dad's dog thought he could "help" out both teams!

The Weekend

I first have to say how great Liv is. I have not wanted to post about this in fear that I might jinx it, but things are still going great. Like I said before she only poops once a week or so, and that is still going, so less dirty-stinky diapers, who could ask for more. She nurses great and is gaining tons of weight, for her I guess it is a lot. I was nervous about the foods I ate, I was being careful about everything and then slowly introducing it into my diet, nothing phases this girl!! I even went for four almost five weeks without chocolate, I had a brownie this weekend and it did not bother her!! I am still not brave enough to eat any really chocolaty stuff but a little here and there seems to be fine! She has such a sweet nature about her, and she already seems to have Jon's crazy personality. She has all these facial expressions that remind me of my animated husband, and she love to smile, mostly at Jon though, I think she sees enough of me during the day so she gets excited when dad gets home. But this is the best part, she has been sleeping for at least five hours at a time, mostly six, but last night she slept seven hours!! It was awesome, then she woke up, ate some breakfast, hung out for a while, and is sleeping right now! I am not sure why we have such a"perfect" girl but I am not complaining. Another side note, she is a drooler all the sudden? My mom and aunt said we started drooling three months before a first tooth cut through, so maybe she is going to be an early bloomer and get her first tooth at four months. I am not looking forward to teething though! She is amazing, we can't get enough of her! Here are a few pictures from Memorial Day. Jon and I went downtown to the Spokane Falls, and Riverfront Park to walk around. We road the Gondola which takes you over the falls, if you look in the background of our pictures you can see the roaring water. Liv was passed out in my arms, the heat put her right to sleep. It was beautiful and so warm that day, in fact it is still warm, summer is just around the corner! Then we had a BBQ over at Jon's parents, played games, had really good dessert and got to bed early, it was awesome! PS my husband is the best grilling machine ever, we need to get a grill again, love that guy!

A Great Big Shove into Parenthood

I will preface this by saying we are all doing well after our excitement this week, Liv even went and had her one month pictures taken yesterday. All is well and we are so blessed, prayers are truly answered. Well we have the easiest little girl, she does not cry, she sleeps so well, and she only poops once a week (sounds weird but the doctor said this is normal for her). On Tuesday we had an adventure, I guess you could say that. This sounds terrible but Liv was exactly four weeks old and it was the first time I was making dinner for Jon and I, what can I say, we have a lot of family really close by. Dinner was ready, Jon was home and Liv was sleeping. We went to go lay her down, and she spit it, a bit more than normal but no big deal. Minutes later she did it again, and within minutes of that the spit up had changed to a bright yellow and shortly later a bright green. I knew this was not normal, so we called our on call nurse after hours. She listened to us and then listened to Liv, she thought Liv had aspirated some spit-up so she told us to call 911, WHAT? The breathing was not my concern, Liv is always wheezy when she sleeps. So instead we headed down to the ER. When they started examining her they knew right off the bat that she was dehydrated, her resting heart rate was 180 and her skin was blotchy. I forgot to mention that during the day Liv had four or five really runny diapers, which is not normal for my once a week pooping sweetie! So they started running all sorts of labs, poking and prodding her and using catheters to extract some urine. What was wrong with her? They then inserted an IV, into her head because I guess there are less nerves in the head causing less pain, who knows? They started pumping fluids into her little body and we waited. They were not quite sure what was going on, but the hospital we went to does not have a pediatrics so we had to be transferred, via ambulance (this was policy, not emergency). When we arrived at the other hospital, more x-rays were ran and some x-ray where she had to drink barium and they followed the liquid through her stomach to make sure there were no knots in her intestines. Those came back clear, and we still had no idea what was going on. She had no fever, she had not eaten in about fourteen hours, and she was not hungry, not normal. Finally they took us from the ER to her room, where they told us she had a stomach virus. The doctors still had to hook her up to heart-monitors and the rest of the "works" were just to make sure, she was safe, all the while still being hooked up to an IV for fluids. This was all before 4am. The next morning she still had not eaten, but by late morning she was ready. She ate a little and kept it down. The nurses and doctors were checking on her all day, she ate two more time, was off the IV and was ready to go home by 5pm. So how did this four week old get a stomach virus, I had not been around anyone with the flu. The doctors said it was really going around, in fact last night we saw on the news that it is so bad( the virus) schools in northern Idaho and eastern Washington were closing down. The poor thing, she had a rough night, she is way to little to be that sick. Needless to say Jon and I had one great big shove into parenthood.
This last picture is one of Liv's one month old pictures, taken just 17 hours after coming home from the hospital, she is so beautiful and so peaceful. And not because it was mothers day, I just felt good. Not only was it my first real mothers day, meaning I am actually a mother, but it was Liv's first Sunday to go to church. And we made it on time. I was so nervous about getting out the door Sunday morning for our nine-o'clock church, that Saturday night I was ironing dresses for Liv and I, laying out the rest of our clothes and getting all of Liv's bath stuff ready for the morning. I woke up with time to spare but was so glad and will continue to be glad that Jon is at home with me on Sunday's so that he can feed Liv a bottle if she needs one, and she did. But we did it, we made it to church, and Liv was a hit, I think!! We came home, all three of us took a Sunday afternoon nap and then headed to my parents and then Jon's. My mother's day gifts were amazing and I can't wait to get my pedicure and massage!! I just want to say how much I love and appreciate my mom and Jon's mom for all the work I am now realizing it takes to raise and nurture your kids. Thank you and I love you. And I am so grateful for Jon and the way he makes me feel about being a wife and a mother, I love you. Here are some new pictures of our family and of Liv. Remember it was her first Sunday at church so she had to be fancy!

I am at a Loss

What do you do when the doctors and books all tell you to never let your baby sleep on their stomach, and you scared to death about SIDS, but your baby sleeps so peacefully on her stomach. This is where I am at a loss. Liv loves sleeping on her stomach and I have been letting her while I am awake during the day, but the past two early mornings she has slept on her tummy(right next to our bed) while I have slept, which means we were both sleeping. But of course I am terrified about SIDS, so is it really worth it? Do I risk it? What do I do? Other than that life is great. Liv already seems to be getting so much bigger. And I know every parent thinks this, but she seems so advanced. She seems to be smiling to reactions already, she is so aware of her surroundings. she can hold her head up, and when she is awake on her tummy she can pick her head up and move it from one side to the other. She is amazing, and a lot of work that is still so new. I know this sounds crazy and don't think for one minute we are planning anything, but I can't wait to have a second baby so I can be more relaxed and full of the knowledge Liv has taught us! She is a good teacher! We love her and are loving life right now, the crazy lives we have! Here are some more pictures of our cutie. The first one made us laugh, I had gotten her all ready to go to my parents house to meet one of my aunts, when we got there and took her blanket off this is what we found. She was still sound asleep. And the last pictures are showing off her curls. Curly hair was the one thing I predicted she would have, and she has them, I love it!

What a Guy!

I don't know what happened below. Today was my first real day of doing ever thing by myself. Liv had a doctors appointment today and I had to get both of us ready and out the door, oh and on time, by myself. I woke up with more than enough time to get us both ready, but who knew Liv would want an extra morning snack, so I was behind schedule. But I did it, I showered, did my hair and make-up, got dresses, gave Liv a bath, got her dressed, grabbed the baby gear and was out the door. It did is all by myself, but I left the house a disaster. Make-up on the counter, bed not made, my dirty clothes on the floor, Liv's dirty clothes on the bed, dishes in the sink, bath stuff in the kitchen (this is where i bathe Liv), you get the picture. I fully intended to come home and clean up while Liv slept. Jon works all day and has been coming home to eat on his lunch break and today I guess he did as well. And when he did, he cleaned everything, he even made the bed. So when I walked in the door I looked down the hallway and thought, it was not such a mess after all, then I realized Jon had come home and cleaned. I thought because my pregnancy was so easy that I was in for it when it came to delivery. Man am I glad I was wrong. Jon and I arrived at the hospital an April 20th, not to be induced but to start the process. There was a pill involved and then a waiting game, but literally this was not my induction. My doctor came in the next morning a little after eight, broke my water, and told me I was at two centimeters, not much change. Then things started rolling. The nurse thought the contractions I was having were aggravation contractions and that they would settle down. Little did she or I know that as soon as they broke my water I was sent into active labor. Two hours into it, I was feeling weak, the contractions were really strong and right on top of each other, but I thought it has only been two hours I can't ask for my epidural yet, I have at least ten hours to go. But I did it, I asked for the meds and ten minutes later the anesthesiologist was there. It took the man five times to get the epidural placed, and I mean he got all the way to placing the catheter and could not get it in. He said the ligaments in my back were really strong. He felt so bad. So almost an hour later it was in and I was feeling great, I mean on top of the world great. Before the epidural I was thinking there was no way I was going to be able to do this, but as soon as the pain was gone, I felt like I could do anything in the world. Well I had not been checked sense eight so at noon the nurse came back in checked me, and I was at a ten!! Jon and I thought it was a joke at first, we could not believe this was happening. Our family thought Jon was joking, naturally, when he told them I was at a ten. The nurse had me give one practice push and had to tell me to stop because my doctor was not there yet. Ten minutes later my doctor arrived, five pushes later Liv was here. I could not believe it, a four hour labor and five pushes, what a joke, and what a gift. Liv was born at 12:36pm. Her first pictures are a little scary, she is pretty chalky and a little swollen, but she is a beauty! <img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5329817230146427410" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 4px; Also I have heard that at the end of the year you can have your blog turned into a book, or something, and I am terrible at journaling, so this blog is my excuse for a journal! Jon and I found out we were pregnant on August 18, 2008 the day after my birthday and two days before Jon's what a gift. Jon did not believe the pregnancy test, he made me take three tests before he realized it was real. We had tons of fun telling our family at our combined birthday dinner via a prayer. PS telling someone you are pregnant in a prayer is perfect, they have to hold in their reaction until "amen," though know one really did!! I felt the little one move for the first time on November 22nd and on the 25th we found out we were having a girl! Jon did not feel her move until December 18th, I know this date because we were snowed in, in one of the biggest snow storms Spokane has ever had, over 2 feet in 24hours. There is lots of stuff in between those dates but I think those are the milestones. My pregnancy was amazing, I was hardly ever sick, in fact I only got sick if I was too tired not if I got hungry, weird! I was a little bit quicker to anger but I was not super emotional, which is good and bad I guess. I loved every second of being pregnant except the frequent, frequent trips to the bathroom! To tell you the truth I miss being pregnant and feeling her every-move, it is truly a miracle and what an amazing blessing it is to be pregnant...I loved it, every bit of, I guess I am a lucky one. Now for the calendar, this is a lot of pictures of me, but it is fun to see my belly grow.

This is days after we found out...5 weeks

Not much change, we are at the Oregon Coast...8 weeks

Weird looking? My doctor decided to induce me tomorrow night, which seems weird but she offered the morning and to tell you the truth I did not want our baby to be born on April 20th...420...I know I am terrible but that is not a way to enter the world, so she is inducing me in the evening in hopes I wont have her until the 21st. We are nervous, well I am, and Jon is keeping his cool. I am not that nervous about the labor and delivery, I know I can do it, or I have to do it, but either way we are going to have a beautiful little girl in a day and a half. No I am nervous about being a parent, we are going to be parents, WE ARE GOING TO BE PARENTS. Seems weird that this is just really hitting me but it is. Who is this little person I have been carrying for nine months, what will she do, who will she be, how are we going to teach her. This is the scary nerve racking part for me and I think it is safe to say, for us. So for now, the shock is setting, the nerves are running high in and we hope to get some sleep tonight because who knows when the next "good" sleep will be? This is it for our two-some, parenthood here we come, ready or not.

Her Nursery

Last weekend we finished this little girls nursery. I was too picky to just go and buy something, or I could not find anything that I really loved, so I took on the task of making her nursery bedding and decor...what was I thinking. I did learn one thing for sure the rest of our kids will get a cute store bought nursery. I spent so much time on it I am not even sure I really like it anymore...I mean I love it but after I have seen it for so long I am sick of it. It is bright, not the usual nursery look, with its colors... hot pink, coral, spring green, chocolate and turquoise. When I was buying the fabric I think everyone thought I was crazy when I told them the fabric was for a nursery. It is sort of retro, I designed after a few Potterybarn designs, just with different colors. I guess you can see her name on the wall, so I guess we are letting you know that her name is Liv, I was not too sure about Liv at first but Jon loves it, and because he loves it I have learned to love it even more, it has grown on me the past couple of weeks. Oh the best part about her nursery is that I was trying to make it not super girly, I mean it is girly of course, I just did not want everything pink. But then I got these grapefruit colored curtains and when the sun shines through the window the whole room glows pink...Jon was like I think maybe there is enough pink now...oops! Looking at these pictures make me wish I could paint the walls in our apartment...
Well we had a little excitement on Monday not that we thought I was going into labor at all, but there were some signs that it could be happening soon...so I got my house all clean, really clean and then nothing, nothing happened. This waiting game is not that much fun. I have made some progress so that is exciting, but I am due in exactly one week and don't really feel like this is going to happen any time soon. I have an appointment tomorrow so we will see if anything has happened!

35 Weeks

OK so it is not Sunday, but I am doing it, I did not want to post until I received some of my maternity pictures I had taken a few weeks ago. It was so fun, my sister the "stylist" did my hair and make-up so that she could use some of the photos for her portfolio. The pictures were taken by one of my mom's friends who is getting her photography studio up and running. To tell you the truth I feel great, which is sort of a bummer because I figure when I start feeling terrible it means she is on her way, but for now no complaints. In fact last night Jon and I were getting ready for bed and I even commented on how great I was feeling. It also might be the fact that it was 75 degrees yesterday and today is my last day of being a nanny!!! We finally finished her nursery this week and I feel like we could have her now and be prepared, or at least as prepared as we could be. Jon on the other hand is denying the fact that I am due in two weeks, he is really excited it is just going to be such a change! Jon is doing really well at his job, he is still training, but he loves it and the people he works with. By the way I feel a little weird posting pictures of me by myself...I guess I might have more to come?

Just one more...

Why are there tools on the right side of the screen, and a pencil near our posts, will those go away...I will get this figured out I promise.

Question?

How do I add friends or links to other blogs on our blog? I am not good with the computer, in fact it took me hours to set up our blog and then I hated the way it looked. I would look at other blogs and think our blog, "sucks." I like things cute and trendy and our first post was far from that, so I was frustrated and gave up, but not really, I was checking our blog like once a week! Confession two...I used our blog to stay updated on all of our friends but was not updating you about us, lame I know, but I got a few pointers or one at least so that I could attempt to make our blog cute, so this is a step in the right direction, I guess. Well what's new with the Norris'

We don't live with my parents... this happened about two months ago but it is still new!

Jon has a new job that he loves. It was such a blessing to get a real career type job at a time like this, I don't know what we did or if we did anything to deserve it, but it is such a blessing

And because of the job, I only have two more weeks left at my two jobs, being and nanny...worst job ever, and working at Pier 1

Oh I only have two more weeks left because I am due with our little girl in three and a half weeks...maybe sooner, hopefully not later

So a few things have changed, not much, we are the same old Norris'.
